Overdose Awareness Day
Every August 31, communities around the world come together to remember without shame those lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief of loved ones left behind, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and try to find ways to lessen the incidence and impacts of overdose.
In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, join us on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM for a Jefferson County Overdose Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony will be a brief commemoration for those individuals lost to overdose. The event will be hosted by the Jefferson County Health District and the Jefferson County Prevention and Recovery Board and will be held at the Prevention and Recovery Board office at 524 Madison Avenue, Steubenville, OH 43952. For more information, visit www.jcprb.org or call 740-282-1300.
As we approach the 24th International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) this year, the theme “Together We Can”, reminds us how collective action can help us toward our shared goal of preventing, and ultimately, ending all overdoses.
