As the Jefferson County Prevention & Recovery Board, we fund, evaluate, and plan for the necessary mental health, prevention, and substance use disorder services in our community. We do not directly provide services – instead, we fund other businesses and services in order to ensure there is always a robust safety net of mental health, recovery, and prevention services throughout Jefferson County.
Unfortunately, our current levy was approved way back in 1976, meaning we are still working with 1976 money. At just 0.5 millage, we are running into severe issues funding and ensuring we can keep the safety net up. As prices for these services continue to increase, we find ourselves unable to financially support these services for our community. Thus, we turn to the community for help.
